The mistery of the shoe under the bed ,

One afternoon, a lady was relaxing at home. She had just finished cleaning the house and was wrapped in a towel after taking a bath. Suddenly, she heard a knock at the door.
To her surprise, it was her husband, a soldier, who had returned home earlier than expected from duty.
"Honey, you're back!" she shouted excitedly as she opened the door. "I missed you so much!"
The soldier smiled and stepped inside.
"I missed you too," he replied.
The lady laughed nervously. Unknown to the soldier, another man had entered the house earlier and was currently hiding under the bed in the bedroom, praying for a miracle.
Under the bed, the man whispered to himself, "Please, God, let this soldier be tired and sleep immediately."
The soldier walked into the bedroom.
The hidden man held his breath.
The lady stood at the doorway, sweating despite the fan blowing at full speed.
Then the soldier suddenly stopped.
He looked down at the floor.
He looked again.
Then he looked at his wife.
Then back at the floor.
"Honey..."
"Y-yes?" the lady replied.
The soldier pointed at a large male shoe near the bed.
"Honey, I missed you too... but who owns this shoe on the floor?"
The lady froze.
Under the bed, the hidden man nearly fainted.
The soldier continued.
"I know it's not mine."
The lady's brain immediately started running faster than a racing motorcycle.
"Oh, that shoe?" she said nervously. "It's... it's... it's a charity shoe!"
"A charity shoe?" asked the soldier.
"Yes! Someone donated it!"
The soldier folded his arms.
"To our bedroom?"
The lady swallowed hard.
Under the bed, the hidden man silently begged the ancestors for help.

Yesterday, we witnessed yet another defining moment in our democratic journey as the ADC convention was held successfully against all odds.

I must respectfully appreciate the leadership of our party, ably led by the Chairman, Distinguished Senator David Mark, whose calm and steady guidance continues to provide direction at critical moments.

My gratitude equally goes to the convention organising committee led by H.E Lyle Imoke, whose diligence, sacrifice, and attention to detail ensured that this convention was not only held, but was successful in every sense of the word.

To our delegates, party faithful, volunteers, and supporters across Nigeria and beyond, I thank you deeply. You have once again demonstrated that democracy thrives when the people refuse to give up on it.

I sincerely thank all Nigerians who, through their resilience and unwavering belief in democracy, made this possible. Your commitment is a reminder that the power of the people remains stronger than forces that seeks to undermine it.

However, now that the convention has come and gone, we must move quickly from celebration to responsibility.
Nigeria is facing very serious challenges, economic hardship, insecurity, unemployment, and a general sense of uncertainty among our people. These issues require urgent attention, clear thinking, and decisive action.

The success of this convention must therefore not end as an event; it must become a renewed commitment to building a nation that works for everyone. We must focus on offering practical solutions, strengthening our institutions, and restoring hope to millions of Nigerians.

The way forward demands unity, sacrifice, and integrity. We must put Nigeria first, above personal interests, above politics, and above all forms of division. If we remain focused and committed, I believe strongly that we can build a new Nigeria that is possible, sustainable, and beneficial to all.

As the only woman among eight men in Kailahun Penguia Chiefdom, where people say a woman can't become chief, you took a stand and shattered those stereotypes. You ran an amazing campaign, met so many people…especially women, youth, and various stakeholders – and pushed for really important issues like mining rights royalties for landowners, good roads, and affordable healthcare. It’s totally understandable to feel let down after investing so much time and passion, especially right after that intense medical evaluation. But just know that this disappointment doesn’t take away from the progress you've made in Penguia and the advocacy for women and children. You've shown such determination and clarity, and so many women and young people look up to you as a source of hope. Those qualities will definitely bring rewards in the future.
