I WATCHED FATEH, AND HERE’S MY HONEST TAKE
Come closer, my people.
Yesterday, I finished watching an Indian action thriller titled, Fateh. Yes, that Fateh film directed and produced by the famous actor Sonu Sood who starred in Jodha and Akbhar.
Fateh tells the story of Fateh Singh, a former special ops officer who must use his skills to deal with cybercrime that poses as a problem to his peaceful village. The movie plays violence, unity and action as life runs – and also teaches me something very important.
In life, people make choice that affect their environment. Good or bad decisions made by anyone would not only affect them, but also the people around them. Fateh, in the movie, stopped military operations and became a farmer producing milk, and had to go back to his act of military behavior when Nimrit (who he considers as sister) is captured and killed. Her being captured was before she became unknowingly connected to the crime syndicate in the movie who used loans to defraud ordinary people in the village and did not also leave out the rich. Sonu’s role definitely captured my attention.
But, as a scriptwriter that I am, I went to discover the discussions that people made about the film (which scholars in literature call critique) – the movie was a flop. Movie critics praised the action sequences of the movie, but said the movie lacked depth and made the main actor look like a psychopath (he acted like he did not have emotions and acted like a superman). Of course, expect that. But I am not sad about it because the money made from the movie was supposed to be given to charity, because Sonu Sood is a giver of resources (or humanitarian) – even his social worker acts done before now also helped in the movie’s popularity.
For me, I do not see issues with the action – it looked good from the start, but the pace was moderately kind of obvious, most of the fighting scenes were too simple and yes, Bollywood should stop this act of painting main characters as superheroes. Yes, he was made to look like human at a point, but he was more of capable than inefficient. But, yes the movie gets my rating of 6-7/10. I liked some action scenes, some part of progression but dialogue stands a chance as well.
