Two female pupils have been announced as the Best Performing Candidates in the 2025 West African Senior Schools Certificate Examination in Sierra Leone.
Jalloh Mariam Roselyne of the Modern Academy Senior School of Excellence is the Best Performing Candidate, obtaining 4 A-1s, 3 B-2s, and 2 B-3s, with an Average Grade Unit of 1.78 in nine subjects.
She was closely followed by Russell Afwa Jemis of the International Secondary School Freetown, who obtained 6 A-1s, 2 B-3s and 1 C-5, with an Average Grade Unit of 1.89 in nine subjects.
The Best Performing School for this year is the Kamboi Senior Secondary School in Kenema, with all its ten candidates obtaining a Credit or better in a minimum of 5 subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. All ten candidates met the requirements for direct entry to a university undergraduate degree.
Next is the Kabala Christian Secondary School, which also had 100% of its candidates meeting the university entrance requirements.
